PhotoSync offers you serveral options to organize your transferred photos and videos in the target destination if the target is a file based destination like a computer, cloud or file service.

Custom formats
Custom Formats This option can be used to define your own custom subfolder formats for your transfers. You can choose from a set of placeholders which will be replaced by the corresponding values during the transfer, you can use your own text blocks and you can use folder separators in the custom formats. Please note that entering an incorrect custom format may cause your transfers to fail if the format generates folder names that are not allowed in your target destination because they contain illegal or problematic characters.

Custom formats let you define your personal subfolder creation choice for your transfer. You may use the following charaters and placeholders in your custom subfolder definitions:

Characters All characters that are allowed for folder names in your target system. Please note that some systems don't allow characters like < (less than), > (greater than), : (colon), " (double quote), | (vertical bar or pipe), ? (question mark), * (asterisk), & (ampersand)
Path separator (/) Use the path separator character to define nested subfolders. Always use the slash character (/) as a path separator, even for systems that use a backslash (\) like Windows. The slash charater will be replaced accordingly on these systems. If you define a custom definition my/files/go/here then PhotoSync will create four nested subdirectories on the target.

If you want to transfer all your photos and videos into a folder that you name Anni's photos and organize the photos by their recording year, you could create a custom subfolder definition Anni's photos/%YR which will create exactly these subfolders for all your transfers.
