How to configure Vipre Antivirus Premium to work with PhotoSync?

To make PhotoSync work with the Vipre Antivirus Premium firewall, you just have to add PhotoSync Companion and Apple Bonjour to the firewall configuration. Depending on the mode you chose for your firewall, both applications are already registered in your firewall. You then just have to modify some of the settings:

  1. Open Vipre Antivirus Premium and click on the 'Firewall' tab to see the firewall options.

  2. In the firewall options select "View Settings" to enter the firewall settings.

  3. Click the 'Exceptions...' button to see the list of firewall exceptions. In the Applications tab please check for existing entries of PhotoSync and Apple Bonjour. PhotoSync Companion is usually installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\PhotoSync\PhotoSync.exe, while Apple Bonjour is usually installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe. In both cases, if the entry already exist please select the entry and choose 'Edit', if the entry doesn't exist, please 'Add' a new application and search the installed application executable on your hard disk which should be in the above mentioned locations.
    The PhotoSync Application Rule should be the following:
    Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\PhotoSync\PhotoSync.exe (or wherever you installed PhotoSync Companion)
    Trusted Inbound: Allow
    Trusted Outbound: Allow
    Not-trusted Inbound: Allow
    Not-trusted Outbound: Allow

  4. The Apple Bonjour Application Rule should be the following:
    Path: C:Program Files (x86)BonjourmDNSResponder.exe (or wherever you installed Apple Bonjour)
    Trusted Inbound: Allow
    Trusted Outbound: Allow
    Not-trusted Inbound: Allow
    Not-trusted Outbound: Allow
